The University:
Bangladesh Institute of Business Academy (BIBA) started in 1996 under National University to offer BBA Program and a group of some students (MBAs) took over its management under Institute of Resources Development (IRD) in 1998. IRD students were transferred to International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), Dhaka Campus. Some of IRD's sponsors established Institute of Business Administration & Technology (IBAT) in1998. From 1999 to 2002 IBAT offered BBA course of National University (NU) and MBA and EMBA courses of Canadian School of Management (CSM) as its study center at Dhaka. Through our commitment to quality education we established a reputation and we were able to obtain support from our alumni to set up NUB. By the
mercy of Allah, we succeeded in getting approval from the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh and Ministry of Education on 17 October 2002. Northern University, Bangladesh (NUB) is a project of IBAT Trust. The Trust has Harvard International School (HIS), Northern College, Bangladesh (NCB), and IBATS as other sister educational institutions. The aim of IBAT Trust is to offer “Quality education an affordable cost.”
